photographers

more often than not, we forget to thank the photographers that diligently took our race pictures. we thank our supporters and organisers and forget the ones that etches the race memories. they sacrificed their sleep, endured the long hours, sometimes bad weather and even gone hungry just to capture some good shots.

never mind if they are fanatic shooters, it's still alot of effort to eyeball, edit and upload the pictures. i hear that some have asked for their pictures to be burnt on cd rom for them. good grief, DIY la! pictures can easily be downloaded from facebook. why would anyone need such a high res version? to see that zit or count the droplets of perspiration on your face or for developing a mega poster and ogle at yourself everyday?

if we continue to take them for granted, soon enough they will disappear. there are those that will take pictures and sell but seriously how many of us will pay for it? it doesn't take a lot of effort to say 'thank you'. if the pictures are watermarked, it means it's copyrighted so the least you can do is to ask for permission.

last but not least, be patient! don't expect photographers to be able to upload pictures within 2 hours like the rest of us. we use point & shoot and upload the whole bunch while we go nap. if it takes 2 days or more, just be thankful that they are putting up the better stuff

just my 2 cents worth....
